Hana Korea makes its North American premiere as part of the New Voice section of the inaugural LA Korean Film Festival.
Inspired by real events, the film offers an intimate portrait of Hyesun, a young North Korean refugee starting over in South Korea. Thrust into a society defined by speed, competition, and high expectations, she struggles to build a new sense of belonging while carrying the emotional weight of the life she left behind.
Through Hyesun’s journey, Hana Korea looks beyond the idea of freedom as simply crossing a border, asking what it truly means to feel free, to belong, and to begin again.

Limited underground parking is accessible from Sunset Boulevard, with additional overflow parking accessible from Stanley Avenue. Street parking may be required if both lots are full.
