*In-person and livestreamed*🏺2026 Trendall Lecture
🗓️ 6:30–7:30pm, Wednesday 11 November
📍NGV International
To celebrate the publication of a significant new volume on the NGV’s ancient Greek vase collection, join us for an exclusive presentation by acclaimed scholar and curator, Dr Christina Avronidaki, for the 2026 Trendall Lecture.
The NGV ancient Greek vase collection was developed with the expert advice of Professor A. D. Trendall, one of the foremost classical art historians of the twentieth century. This internationally significant collection is the subject of a new study and publication in the prestigious series Corpus Vasorum Antiquorum(CVA), bringing the NGV Collection to a global audience.
For the 2026 Trendall Lecture, Dr Christina Avronidaki, Head of the Department of Vases, Metalwork and Minor Arts at the National Archaeological Museum in Athens, will join us in Melbourne to explore her personal choice of highlights from the NGV Collection, drawing on her expertise in Greek pottery and vase painting.
This event will also be the official launch of the NGV Corpus Vasorum Antiquorum, which examines a selection of Greek and South Italian vases from the NGV Collection.
Copies of the publication will be available for purchase at the event at a special price of $150 (RRP$180), or you can pre-purchase a copy when booking to collect on the night.
This event will be held in person and live-streamed. When purchasing, you can select an in person ticket or a live-stream ticket to watch online.
