About this Event
Discover the creative and relaxing world of junk journaling, where everyday keepsakes become meaningful works of art.
Bring along your journal and favorite “junk”—photos, ticket stubs, postcards, receipts, or other mementos—and we’ll provide the papers, washi tape, stamps, stickers, and embellishments. You’ll leave with 1–2 beautifully collaged pages and a fun new way to preserve your memories.
What is junk journaling? Junk journaling is similar to scrapbooking and collaging but focuses more on repurposing everyday paper items, collected momentos, and ephemera to document memories and ideas
(think receipts, ticket stubs, old photos, postcards, stickers, labels, brochures from your recent trip, etc.)
What’s included:
Scissors, glue sticks and various embellishments including paper, washi tape, stamp punches, and stickers
What to bring:
- Your “junk” (photos, receipts, ticket stubs, postcards, etc)
- A journal of your choice
A journal will be available for purchase if you happen to forget yours. Typically most people like to use soft bound notebooks or composition notebooks but spiral notebooks are fine too!
By the end of the session you will take home your journal with 1-2 fun collaged pages you can reflect on. A beautiful way to store your memories!
Marissa is an OT who works in an outpatient rehab clinic as a hand therapist. She loves how junk journaling/collaging is a therapeutic way to use your hands to create art. She recently moved to Northport with her husband in January 2026.
