About this Event
After successful editions in Kigali (2023) and Nairobi (2025), we're bringing the entire ecosystem to Johannesburg, convening the people who are actually building cities.
If you're serious about urban development, this is where you meet the people who can help you move faster.

Agenda
Capital
Info: Everything about funding a city: assembling the capital stack across DFI, sovereign, institutional, and private sources; de-risking with guarantees and blended finance; land value capture; and structuring the early demand that makes a project bankable.
Infrastructure
Info: The hard build. Power, water, connectivity, and transport. What comes first, how it's sequenced to demand, and how it gets delivered at scale when you're starting from open ground.
Governance
Info: The rules that make or break a city: SEZ and special-jurisdiction frameworks, regulatory autonomy, host-government partnerships and PPPs, and the operator's job of administering a city once people arrive.
Master Planning & Design
Info: Turning vision into a plan that actually gets built. Urban design, phasing, density, and the discipline of designing for absorption rather than ambition.
Bringing a City to Life
Info: Demand generation beyond the groundbreaking: attracting residents, anchor businesses, and talent, and building the civic and commercial fabric that makes a place worth choosing.
New City Showcase
Info: The deal-flow track. Live project presentations, structured investor engagement, and the conversations that turn a pitch into a partnership.
The African Opportunity
Info: The continent's urbanization and demographic dividend, and what it specifically takes to build here, set against the Johannesburg backdrop.
