About this Event
Why do we sometimes react in ways we later regret? Why can emotions take over, even when we know how we would rather respond? And why can managing stress, worry or difficult situations sometimes feel much harder than it should?
Drawing on decades of experience in psychiatry, Professor Peters will help you understand some of the processes behind your thoughts, emotions and behaviours, and show how greater awareness of your mind can help you manage yourself more effectively.
During the evening, you’ll explore:
- why thoughts and reactions can feel difficult to manage
- what can influence how you respond in the moment
- how awareness can help you notice what is happening
- practical ideas to reflect on in everyday life
Whether you’re dealing with pressures at work, navigating family life, leading others, going through a challenging period or simply interested in understanding yourself better, the evening is designed to give you ideas that are relevant to real life.
You don’t need any previous knowledge of neuroscience, psychology or The Chimp Model® to attend.
