IMPORTANT:
- SCH Johnson Center Nurses: Registration includes Part 1 (online prework) and Part 2 (instructor-led hands-on). If you only require NRP part 1 and plan to complete part 2 with another NRP course provider, please purchase NRP part 1 from AAP or contact the course provider directly. If you opt for a different course provider, be aware that you must pay out of pocket and then request reimbursement from your unit if you are still eligible.
- Minimum of 6 students to confirm this class. If this is not met, the class will be cancelled and the students will be offered the option to transfer to another class.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The NRP Program introduces the concepts and basic skills of neonatal resuscitation. It is designed for health care professionals involved in any aspect of neonatal resuscitation, including physicians, nurses, advanced practice nurses, nurse midwives, licensed midwives, respiratory care practitioners, and other health are professionals who provide direct care during neonatal resuscitation.
Completion of the program does not imply that an individual has the competence to perform neonatal resuscitation. Each hospital is responsible for determining the level of competence and qualifications required for someone to assume clinical responsibility for neonatal resuscitation.

PROVIDER INFORMATION
Steps to achieving provider status are listed below:
1. Register for a class date (Part 2: Instructor-led/Hands-on portion).
2. Complete Part 1: Pre-work/Online portion.
- Stanford Medicine Children's Health Nurses/Staff must complete Part 1 through . Registrants will receive an email from the Center for Professional Excellence and Inquiry (CPEI) with detailed instructions on how to complete Part 1.
- General Admission and SMCH LPCH Travel Nurses must complete Part 1 through .
3. Part 1 MUST BE COMPLETED prior to attending the hands-on portion of the course.
4. Print your Part 1 certificate of completion and hand it to your NRP Instructor when you attend Part 2.
5. You must take Part 2 within 30 days of completing Part 1. Any expired online tests will be voided.
REGISTRATION and FEES
- *SMCH Johnson Center Nurses = FREE (includes Part 1 and 2)
- *SMCH Staff from Other Department (Nurses and Respiratory Care Practitioners) = $200 plus admin fees (includes Part 1 and 2)
- General Admission (includes Stanford Health Care, Stanford University, Stanford Children's Medical Practitioners, NPs, and Travel Nurses) = $200 plus admin fees (Part 2 only)
*Stanford Children's Health Nurses/Staff: Register using your stanforchildrens.org work email and SMCH employee ID number for employment verification.
Please be advised that the Center for Professional Excellence and Inquiry (CPE&I) accepts card payments ONLY for course fees and materials.
For educational reimbursement, eligible employees need to secure prior approval from their managers through AccessHR. Upon completion of the course, the employee must submit the receipt and proof of completion for reimbursement. Click for Reimbursement Guidelines.
CONTINUING EDUCATION
- To receive CE Credit for the examination, you must enter your discipline and license information into the system. This must be done prior to completing the exam.

- Join Waitlist: Please note that being on the waitlist does not guarantee enrollment to the course but it certainly increases your chances when an opening becomes available. Our waitlist is maintained on a first-come, first-served basis. Upon seat availability, you will be contacted automatically with further instructions on how to register.
CANCELLATION and REFUND
Johnson Center Nurses
- A $55 fee will be charged if Part 1 has been accessed in Healthstream.
- NO SHOWS and cancellations less than 5 days before scheduled Part 2 will be charged a $35 cancellation fee.
- Registrant will receive an invoice from CPE&I.
- NO SHOWS on the day of are considered unexcused absences. Managers will be notified.
- A medical note may be required in the event of illness or medical emergencies.
General Admission
- FULL REFUND for cancellations at least 2 weeks prior to course date.
- PARTIAL REFUND for cancellations less than 2 weeks prior to course date. A $35 cancellation fee will be deducted from the total amount you have paid.
- NO REFUND for cancellations less than 5 days prior to course date.
- Cancellation by CPEI: Schedules, venues and details are subject to change and cancellation. Registered participants will be provided with as much advance notice as possible if this should occur. If CPEI cancels class, full refund will be given.

Our training facilities currently utilize many items that contain natural rubber latex. If you have a known latex sensitivity or allergy, please notify us and your direct supervisor so that appropriate accommodations can be considered.
