About this Event
See glowing examples of neon art explained, expect mesmerising demonstrations of cutting, blowing, stretching, bending and fusing glass with flame, filling with gas and illuminating with electricity.
Experience the chance to have a go yourself under tuition and take home the results!
Working with 8mm soda glass, you'll be shown how to bend your 75cm long glass tube into a unique squiggle shape. Your glass will then be filled with neon gas to produce a crimson red light. Your neon art will then be fitted with power supply to take home and disply.
Artist bio:
At Neon Workshops, as well as making, installing, consulting and publishing, we teach neon as a method of creative expression and cultural production. Dedicated to sharing the exciting potential of neon making, we run regular courses to de-mystify this gas-filled glass and challenge the common cliches. Established in 2010 as one of the few places to teach neon in Europe, Neon Workshops has built an enviable reputation, as passionate as ever to share the light on this energy efficient, 100% recyclable and biodegradable hand made British invention.
When attending a workshop you can receive 10% off within the Gallery Shop on the day of your session.
