About this Event
Life is hectic, and real human connection can sometimes feel increasingly rare.
Neither Here Nor There is an intimate live art experience created by artists Jo Fong and Sonia Hughes, championing the simple but powerful act of slowing down, listening and having a real conversation.
Beginning with a short walk, Jo and Sonia invite audiences into a series of six-minute conversations. There will be talking, listening, questions, pauses, solos, duets and moments shared together — creating space for different voices, perspectives and experiences.
At the heart of the event is one deceptively simple question:
How can we live together?
Every six minutes, the conversation shifts. New questions are introduced, chairs move and new connections are made. There’s no pressure to have the right answer — just an invitation to be present, curious and open to whoever happens to be sitting opposite you.
Audiences have described the experience as:
“The most amazing, illuminating, life-affirming conversations with strangers.”
“Thought provoking, cathartic and quite lovely.”
“Surprising, challenging, rewarding, beautiful, moving.”
Come for a walk, take a seat and make some time to talk.
The event begins with a short outdoor walk of approximately 8–10 minutes, weather permitting.
Neither Here Nor There was originally created for Experimentica Festival 2018 and is commissioned by Chapter and LAUK Diverse Actions, with support from Arts Council of Wales.
