It's Halloween, Neil Young style!
Join us at Alberta Street Pub for Neil-O-Ween, a Halloween celebration of Neil Young's music featuring Jimmy Smith, Trisha Gene Brady, and Portland's own Lazy Horse.
Jimmy Smith is a founding member, singer, and songwriter of Austin's legendary alt-country band The Gourds. Known for their eclectic mix of country, folk, rock, and Texas eccentricity, The Gourds built a devoted following over more than two decades. Jimmy will perform songs from his own catalog along with a Neil Young cover or two.
Trisha Gene Brady spent years fronting Knoxville's acclaimed Americana band The Black Lillies, touring extensively and performing everywhere from intimate clubs to the Grand Ole Opry. She'll bring her mix of country, soul, and roots music to the evening, along with a few Neil favorites.
Lazy Horse digs into the louder, guitar-driven side of Neil Young's catalog, drawing inspiration from his work with Crazy Horse. Expect plenty of electric guitars, extended jams, and raw, ragged rock and roll. The set mixes familiar favorites with deeper cuts and lesser-known songs that don't always get their due.
And since it's Halloween, costumes are encouraged! Come dressed as Neil Young from any era—or get creative and dress as a character, lyric, or scene inspired by a Neil Young song. Whether you're a Cinnamon Girl, a Southern Man, or just Rockin' in the Free World, we'd love to see what you come up with.
