About this Event
Spend a relaxing afternoon surrounded by greenery at TERRA Greenhouses in Stoney Creek learning how to needle felt with fibre artist Cathy Disbrow. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll build a wire armature framework using pipe cleaners and sculpt wool over top to create a sweet, fully poseable 4" mouse.
Techniques Covered:
- Building a sturdy wire armature base
- Wrapping, shaping, and blending wool for a seamless body
- Sculpting and attaching ears, snout, and facial features
Festive Bonus:
Make a needle felted Santa hat and tailor a felt scarf to give your mouse holiday charm. Because the hat is removable, your finished critter easily transitions into year-round home decor.
Skill Level: Beginner-friendly
Materials included are wool, pipe cleaners, felt for the scarf, and 2 felting needles to take home. Foam felting pads are provided for students to use during class and can be purchased separately.
If you have any questions, please contact the instructor Cathy Disbrow.
