NBNA Black Maternal Health Equity Committee proudly presents an evening about Black maternal health, featuring the NAACP Image and CANNES Award winning short documentary The Ebony Canal, narrated by Academy Award winner Viola Davis.
THE EBONY CANAL: A Story of Black Infant Health uses storytelling to bring greater attention to black infant health and the experiences surrounding pregnancy, birth,motherhood, healthcare, and the factors that influence outcomes for black mothers and babies.
Hosted at Rutgers University-Newark, this gathering brings together community leaders, healthcare clinicians, researchers, advocates, students, and community members for a screening followed by a panel discussion with the filmmakers, healthcare practicitoners, and advocates leading this movement.
