On Saturday, 17th October, come along for a special Navratri Heritage Walk through the heart of old Pune!We’ll start with the story of the festival itself: the story, why it’s celebrated for nine nights, and how the many forms of Goddess Durga came to be honoured during this time. Along the way, we’ll stop outside some of the city’s much-loved temples dedicated to the Goddess and talk about their histories.
Please note: with the festival in full swing and the queues so long, we won’t be going inside the temples on this walk. Instead, we’ll take them in from the outside, soak up the festive atmosphere, and enjoy the sights, sounds and colours of Navratri on the streets.
