Drawing from traditional Indian acting systems and ancient treatises including the Natyashastra, this three-day workshop by Kapila Venu and Rajeev Kalamandalam introduces participants to ‘Navarasa Sadhana’, an actor training methodology centred on authentic and deep emotional expression. Through a practical process of self-exploration and physical exercises, participants will explore how an actor’s internal experience can be transformed into outward emotional expression, creating a profound aesthetic experience for the spectator.
The Navarasa Sadhana methodology, developed by Guru G. Venu, has been taught at institutions including the Intercultural Theatre Institute in Singapore, the National School of Drama in New Delhi and Natanakairali in Irinjalakuda.
