Join Naturalist Tom Walker to discover the mysterious world of fungi. Fungi are everywhere: underground, under bark, inside dead leaves and wood, and even in insects. With a keen eye, we will search for members of this fascinating kingdom and learn about their crucial roles in the ecosystem along the Clapps Pond Trail. Some fungi are parasitic and steal nutrients from their host, but the majority actually provide numerous benefits to nearby vegetation. In fact, more than 90 percent of plants have a fungal partner to help them obtain water and nutrients. They also decompose dead organisms and facilitate the recycling of nutrients back into the earth.REGISTRATION REQUIRED: https://www.provincetownconservationtrust.org/events/nw092526-sf32m
