Dive into the wonders of the natural world with Nature Lab! Designed for homeschoolers ages 8–10, this enrichment program offers hands-on activities and engaging lessons centered around nature, ecology, and scientific exploration. Each session features a new theme, offering students opportunities to connect with the environment in meaningful ways.Come be a busy bee with us for a morning! We’ll explore all the things we use daily thanks to the hard work of bees and other pollinators. We’ll do a little bee dance, learn how honeybees keep their hive happy, and even do a hands-on mock hive inspection. Afterwards, we’ll take a walk to Yanahli Park’s very own honeybee hives and identify the most important bee of all…the QUEEN bee!
This program includes a half-mile walk to an active honeybee hive. Participants should dress appropriately for walking outdoors. Because this program takes place near active beehives, it is not recommended for individuals with a known or severe bee allergy. While our bees are generally docile and will not be handled by participants, there is always a risk of being stung when visiting the hive.

Note: This is a drop-off program, however, parents are welcome to stay if they choose. We kindly ask that you take a seat in the back of the room to allow the students to fully engage with the activities. If you bring siblings along, please ensure they remain seated and quiet throughout the session so everyone can enjoy the experience.
