About this Event
Join local artist Helen Brook for a calm, cozy seasonal workshop this autumn, crafting your own artwork to take home from pressed flowers, leaves & seeds. Take a little time to slow down and reconnect with nature. Everyone is welcome & no art experience is needed.
The Nature Arranged series of sessions are free to attend, fully funded as part of the Kirklees Seasons of Nature programme.
What to expect
Enjoy a locally foraged blackberry seasonal spritzer on arrival, a short meditation in the outdoor space (weather permitting), and then an afternoon of hands-on pressed flower crafting.
You will make: one A4 pressed flower artwork, and at least 1 card, both on plantable seed paper. You will learn about methods of making artwork sustainably, using compostable glues and handmade seed paper. No prior experience is required.
Come along solo, or bring along a family member or friend and create gorgeous, locally foraged art to take home.
One drink will be provided, but you are welcome to bring along your own beverages to enjoy as part of the workshop.
Where to find us
This workshop will take place at The Room, Almondbury, a cozy private workshop space recently renovated. The Room can be found at the bottom of Broken Cross lane. Please park on Kaye Lane, and walk the quick walk down to the barn.
