Shooting with natural light is full of unpredictability, which is exactly why many photographers find it challenging and exciting. We will explore different lighting situations and learn how to handle each one. Students will use reflective boards and learn to bounce light back onto the subject to avoid harsh shadows. We will also cover how to make dramatic portraits using direct sunlight and shadows. For those interested, I will demonstrate the use of speedlights for fill-in flash. Students may bring their own model, but I will have a model or two also for everyone to photograph. Students will be asked to email the models several of the images from the session.
