About this Event
Are you a Mexican American woman living in San Antonio? In the first ten years of your career/job? We’d love to invite you to a retirement workshop aka “escuelita”, designed to help you plan for retirement using individual and community strengths.
Do you identify as:
- A Mexican American woman
- From/living in San Antonio? and
- Within the first ten years of your career/job?
Are you available for?
- A three-hour workshop (escuelita)
- January 3, 2026 (Saturday), 10 AM to 1 PM, at
- BiblioTech EDU Community Room. 626 N. Flores, SATX 78205
The escuelita is open to participants from all industries, professions, jobs, and income levels — everyone’s experience and voice are welcome. Retirement experience is not necessary. No marketing for retirement plans is included. This is for research purposes only. IRB approved.
Participant Criteria:
- Mexican American Women
- In the first ten years of their careers/jobs
- Living in San Antonio
Format: In-person presentation, to include three consecutive sessions
Date: Saturday, January 3, 2026, 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM

- Session 1: Rethinking Retirement
- Session 2: Retirement Principles that are NOT Scary
- Session 3: Sí Se Puede, Yes We Can Retire with Confidence
Time commitment: 3 consecutive hours, same day
Maximum participants: 8

Snacks: Light refreshments provided
