About this Event
In this hands-on workshop, participants will wander the farm to gather flowers, leaves, and other plant material to steam them into cotton bandanas provided by the organizer. As participants work on their creations, Madeleine will share her knowledge about natural dye plants and mordants, and leave participants with the skill to create more bundle dye pieces on their stovetop at home.
Madeleine Provost is a Natural Dye Artisan and Apparel Designer/Educator living in Rockaway Beach.
Edgemere Farm is a volunteer-run, zero-profit urban farm with a mission of education, food justice, and providing agricultural, musical, and cultural programming to the historically underserved and environmentally disadvantaged neighborhood of Edgemere, Queens, and the Rockaway Peninsula at large.
