Information
Two centuries after Beethovens death, his music remains as enduring, fresh, and potent as ever. This program, the first of three exploring his symphonies, pairs two of Beethovens most compelling overtures with the lively, inventive Symphony No. 8. Bomsori Kim joins the orchestra, making her NSO debut in Bruchs Romantic Violin Concerto No. 1. Under conductor Ken-David Masur, Beethovens music meets the composers who followed in his wake, revealing the ideas, sounds, and possibilities that echo through the orchestra today.
