About this Event
90 years ago to the day, King George IV opened the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich. In the years since then it has grown to become Royal Museums Greenwich – incorporating the Queen’s House, Royal Observatory and Cutty Sark – to become the centre of maritime past and future for the entire country. With a collection of more than two million objects, including the largest collections in the world of ship models, Van de Velde artwork, and manuscripts, ship plans and original maritime documents, the National Maritime Museum has international significance and welcomes millions of visitors every year.
Epic stories of exploration and endeavour that have shaped the world are housed within the Museum’s walls and we invite you to join us to celebrate 90 years of information, entertainment and discovery and to support the future of this amazing institution.
Guests will experience the golden age of cruise ships with deck games, the British seaside through special photography spots and take part in a live philanthropic auction to secure support for vital future Museum projects. ‘Sailor Chic’ is the theme of the evening and you are all invited to take part.
