Detroit-raised comedian Nate Armbruster has performed at some of the country's top comedy festivals, including The Great American Comedy Festival, Gilda's LaughFest, Laughing Skull Comedy Festival, and The World Series of Comedy in Las Vegas. His debut album, Sorry to Bother You, reached No. 1 on the iTunes Comedy Chart after being recorded at Chicago's renowned Zanies Comedy Club. His comedy has also been featured on SiriusXM, helping introduce his laid-back, sharply written style to a wider audience. Now based in Chicago, Armbruster began performing stand-up as a teenager in the Detroit comedy scene. A longtime favorite of Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase audiences, he was performing at open mics at the club before he was old enough to drive himself there. Those early appearances laid the foundation for a career that has taken him from Michigan stages to comedy clubs and theaters across the country. He also created and hosts Nate Knows Nothing, a podcast featuring humorous takes on pop culture, current events, sports, and the occasional personal mishap.
Armbruster's understated delivery, quick wit, and conversational storytelling make even life's smallest inconveniences worth examining. Drawing on his Midwestern upbringing, awkward encounters, and the peculiarities of modern life, he finds humor in ordinary experiences without needing to make a big production out of them. Whether he's dissecting the absurdities of everyday life or sharing stories that feel instantly familiar, Nate's relaxed charm and sharp writing make for a show that is both relatable and consistently hilarious.
Nate Armbruster knows that life's little annoyances make great comedy. Find out what you've been overlooking when he takes the stage at Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase!
