ABOUT THE LAUNCH
Monash University, in partnership with the University of Melbourne, University of Queensland, and University of Sydney, invites you to the official project launch of NatCrash—Australia’s National Motor Vehicle Crash Injury Compensation Database.
Funded by the National Road Safety Action Grants Program, NatCrash collates fragmented Compulsory Third Party (CTP) insurance and motor vehicle crash injury workers' compensation data into a single national resource offering a broader picture of road trauma and its outcomes.
NatCrash gathers and shares critical information about motor vehicle crash injury claims across Australia to provide a comprehensive picture of road safety across Australia, helping to inform policy-making, fostering a safer environment for all.
WHAT WE WILL FEATURE
First look at NatCrash Data and Analysis: Presentation on how the database was developed and its initial findings - including the burden of mild-to-moderate injuries currently missing from national road safety metrics.
Future Research: How NatCrash can improve road safety metrics by expanding beyond fatalities, police reports and hospitalised injuries.
Cross-Sector Value: How the NatCrash database may enhance road safety strategy, policy and guide the investment of regulators, insurers, government policymakers, and community support organisations.
Networking Reception: Connect with cross-sector leaders over complimentary drinks and canapés following the presentation.
