For the autumn launch of “Narratives of Hungary”, we have come up with a program tied to personal memories, the perception of places, and the stories we carry through life.The program of the evening will include the following bits:
- Moments from the Book and Beyond
A conversation with the contributors to “Narratives of Hungary” and the artists, writers, poets whose stories and work feature in the book.
We’ll talk about how places influence their creative work, and how encounters with people and places shape what we produce.
Among the guests: András Gerevich, Jessica Gadsden, Hope Reese, Gabor Gyukics, and others.
- I Remember It Differently
A discussion with the audience about personal memories and the stories we tell about ourselves.
Do we remember things as they happened? Can telling a story change a memory? Why do some moments stay with us while others disappear?
Everyone will be invited to share their stories - anonymously, or not.
- "Stories Behind the Photos" - a selection of photographs from the book, accompanied by stories from the photographer Daria Ra.
“Narratives of Hungary” was built over two years of travel, conversations and fieldwork. Through essays, interviews and personal stories, it explores Hungary through its people, places, culture, traditions and everyday life. Following “Narratives of Budapest”, the new volume takes the journey beyond the capital.
The book was released in May 2026.
