Keen to join our event? We'd love to have you - please register your attendance here: https://volunteerportal.conservationvolunteers.com.au/s/make-booking?id=a0rMn00001PSK9mIAH??❤️Join us at Prince of Wales Bay to celebrate NAIDOC week!
We'll start the event with a smoking ceremony performed by Trish from Nita Education, which will connect us with the land and with the ancient culture that cherishes and looks after the timtumili minanya/Derwent River).
Afterwards, we'll be planting 200 native plants along the foreshore, to build back habitat at this site and increase biodiversity.
If you haven't planted with us before, you are in for a treat - it's so rewarding and fun to plant, and it won't just put a smile on your face, it helps the environment!
Help us rebuild a neglected foreshore along the timtumili minanya/Derwent River, and have a lovely morning out with us!
?Please ensure you wear long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, a hat and fully enclosed shoes. Please also bring your own drinking water.
❔If you have any questions about this event, or if you'd like to register a group of volunteers, please message Janine on [email protected].
?The word 'timtumili minanya' is palawa kani, the language of Tasmanian Aborigines’. Learn more on the SETAC website, or download SETAC's brand-new palawa kani app.
