“Sometimes you wear stretchy pants in your room. It’s for fun.”Jack Black steps into the ring in NACHO LIBRE, Jared Hess’s gloriously ridiculous wrestling comedy.
Nacho is a cook at a Mexican monastery where life is quiet, the food is terrible and money is always tight. But Nacho has a secret dream: he wants to become a luchador.
Ignoring the monastery’s rules, he dons a mask, squeezes himself into some very stretchy trousers and teams up with the painfully skinny Esqueleto to enter the wild world of Mexican wrestling. His plan? Win enough money to feed the orphans. The only problem is that he’s absolutely terrible at wrestling.
From the director of NAPOLEON DYNAMITE, NACHO LIBRE combines deadpan humour, bizarre characters, ludicrous wrestling and one of Jack Black’s most committed performances.
Nearly 20 years after its release, it’s become a genuine cult favourite – endlessly quotable, completely ridiculous and best enjoyed with a crowd.
Get that corn outta my face!
