Chamber folk rockers Mystery Loves Company began their journey in Houston, TX in 2012 as a duo. This intriguing pair consists of Maddy, a conservatory-trained cellist with a highly technical musical background, and Carlos, a self-taught guitarist from Venezuela who is passionate about songwriting.
Their paths crossed at an open mic where Carlos was showcasing his new material. Maddy was performing with a friend for fun, but her virtuosic cello skills caught Carlos's attention immediately. He proposed a collaboration on original music, and they quickly discovered a mystifying sound, woven with deep sentiments surrounding human struggle, safety, worth, and equality. Their captivating songs have resonated with audiences who appreciate live music and the blend of classical and jazz instruments in a rock/folk setting. They began performing regularly around Houston, eventually touring throughout Texas and the Midwest.
The full band includes Danny Patterson on drums and Chase Demel on keys, enhancing the dynamic vocal duo that is Mystery Loves Company.
