Welcome, Chief Chambers!The Myrtle Beach community is invited to the swearing-in ceremony of Myrtle Beach's incoming chief of police, Frederick Chambers. The ceremony will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at the Ocean Reef Resort, 7100 North Ocean Boulevard. Chief Chambers comes to Myrtle Beach from Fairfax County, Virginia, with nearly 26 years of law enforcement experience. Chief Chambers' first official day with the City of Myrtle Beach is Friday, Sept. 18.
All are welcome to attend the swearing-in ceremony. Seating is available for up to 300 guests and is first-come, first-served. Additional information about parking will be available soon. The event will be live-streamed on the city of Myrtle Beach's Facebook page, but your attendance is encouraged to show support for our new chief and the MBPD!
