In the early 1990s, Houston’s Broadway Square stood at a crossroads. Like Broadway in cities across America, the street carried a name that symbolized ambition and culture—but in Houston, it became a battleground. As the Drug Task Force flooded the neighborhood, residents were surveilled, profiled, and branded as criminals. Yet in the midst of this tension, a new Black cultural movement began to flourish. Posse on Broadway chronicles this transformation, capturing the voices, memories, and resilience of a community fighting to define itself.
