About this Event
A Warm Introduction to the Wisdom of Your Body & Breath
Most of us move through life without truly understanding how our nervous system works, how it releases hormones, shapes our moods, influences our focus, affects our sleep, and supports our emotional resilience. When we don’t understand these inner mechanics, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed or frustrated by our own reactions to life.
But here’s the empowering truth: your body already holds incredible tools for balance, clarity, and energy, many of them right at your fingertips.
In this introduction, you’ll begin to explore the unique language of your body. You’ll learn to listen more closely to the signals it sends, and discover simple, effective ways to respond with care. Together, we will journey through new practices, tools, and strategies that support mindfulness and wellbeing, helping you make healthier choices and cultivate a deeper sense of harmony within.
What Is Breathwork?
Breathwork is the simple yet powerful practice of intentionally guiding your breath to support your mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. By gently adjusting the depth, speed, and rhythm of your breathing, you can create profound shifts within yourself helping you relax deeply, release stress, sharpen your focus, or awaken more energy in your body.
These practices have roots in ancient traditions, including yoga’s pranayama, which teaches us that the breath is more than just a physical function it is a bridge between body, mind, and inner awareness. When we learn to work with the breath consciously, we reconnect with a natural source of balance and vitality that has always been within us.
This session will be led by My Mindset, a Stockport-based VCFSE organisation. It is aimed at those working, volunteering, or starting out in the VCFSE (voluntary, community and faith-based groups, and social enterprise organisations) sector in Stockport.
Refreshments such as tea and coffee will be provided.
