Discover the elegant world of Sumi-e, the traditional Japanese art of ink wash painting. This workshop offers a tranquil space to explore a practice rooted in mindfulness, where the goal is not just to depict a subject but to capture its essential spirit through fluid, expressive brushstrokes. All materials are included in the workshop, so we’ll have the bamboo brushes ready for you.
Here is a short introduction to the workshop for your reference.
Under the guidance of sumi-e artist Jasmine Lau, you will master the foundational techniques of this timeless art form. During the session, you will:

Master the Brush: Practice essential ink painting techniques and tonal graduation to create depth.
Understand Composition: Discover how to balance space and form on the page.
