Step into the drama of the early American frontier.
Why did western settlers — from Kentucky to the Northwest Territory — become some of the loudest voices demanding war in 1812? What fears, ambitions, and frontier realities pushed them toward conflict?
Join Professor Brandon C. Downing for a fast‑paced, eye‑opening look at the western forces that helped ignite the War of 1812. Through vivid stories of land disputes, tense encounters along the Ohio Valley, and the rugged culture of backcountry independence, Professor Downing reveals how everyday frontier life shaped national policy — and ultimately pushed the young United States into war.
If you love bold stories, big turning points, and the untold side of American history, this talk is for you.
This event is FREE and open to the public.
