Soloists: Dr. Trent Shuey and Dr. Lisa Rogers, timpani
This concert brings storytelling, rhythm, and imagination to the forefront. On February 20, the orchestra presents engaging educational concerts for area schools, introducing thousands of young students to the wonder of live symphonic music. The program will focus on Prokofiev’s beloved Peter and the Wolf, a charming introduction to the orchestra through narrative and character.
On February 21, the orchestra returns to the stage for a dynamic public performance that continues the theme of musical storytelling — and features an electrifying finale: a Concerto for Two Timpanists, showcasing the artistry, athleticism, and excitement of percussion. With Dr. Trent Shuey and Dr. Lisa Rogers as soloists, this concert is packed with energy, creativity, and surprises.
