This is a gig not to be missed good people. It's all for a very good reason. Get your tickets from the bar at the venue. They are on sale from this coming WEDNESDAY (23rd September). Get your tickets early. We want this gig to be filled with Martin Blake's friends, family and many musical followers. BE THERE!
This gig will be amazing! A fabulously rockin' double-header gig, in central Hereford, Saturday night 7th Nov 2026 featuring "Whiskey River" (with their Rockin" Zydeco Blues line-up) plus another brilliant R'n'R combo "The Rads" featuring five fabulous musicians and led by the charismatic Ronnie Walton. If you like Rock'n'roll, Swamp Music, Chicago and Louisiana Blues and Good Rockin' Country then you won't hear better. There will be some special guests performing on the night and all being well Martin hopes to sing just a couple of songs with us on the night.
Both bands will be playing free-of-charge at this benefit gig for our "brother in music" Martin Blake. We hope this is a step towards funding a life-enhancing operation.
Several months ago, Martin suffered a severe and debilitating stroke. Although for years a great singer, talented instrumentalist on guitar and banjo, currently he cannot move his right arm at all. His speech is affected, he can't walk far and the whole right side is badly afflicted. We want to help this situation by doing what we do best - playing music and in turn raising funds to help Martin. He has been offered an operation which will give him a chance of recovery. Let's help him take that opportunity. Come on folks, let's fill the place on Saturday 7th November. Bring your dancing shoes. See the flyer in the accompanying photograph for details.
If you know Martin and love the music he has played across so many years, come to this event. We all want him to have the best possible chance of recovering.

We also thank Les the Richmond Place Club for their help with the venue and promotion (Les had all the posters printed and the tickets) also Hereford Music Shop for very kindly providing the PA. Same as the bands, all these good people are providing their help and services free-of-charge on this occasion as we all care about Martin.
