About this Event
You didn't get into music to feel overwhelmed by it. But here you are, second-guessing your worth, your strategy, and whether any of it is actually working.
This workshop is for you. On Sunday 25 October, from 1:30-4:30pm, three women who've been in the thick of it will sit down with you and get real about what it actually takes to build resilience from the inside out, above and beyond this industry synonymous with gatekeeping and smoke and mirrors.
What You'll Walk Away With
This isn't a panel of people handing you a checklist. It's four hours of honest, practical conversation designed to shift how you think about your music, your mindset, and your place in the industry.You'll leave with:
- A clearer sense of what's holding you back, and what's actually within your control;
- Practical strategies for navigating the music business without losing yourself in the process;
- A new understanding of how your energy, beliefs, and habits shape your results;
- Real-world insight from someone who works in the industry every day on behalf of artists like you; and,
- Connection with a room full of people who get it.
Meet Your Speakers
Yolani
Independent Recording Artist & Studio Owner
Yolani has spent 17 years carving her own path through the music industry, building an international career as an independent artist grounded entirely in authenticity and resilience. Originally emerging from the reggae and Afrobeat world, she's earned radio play across Africa, the US, and Australia, supported reggae legend Anthony B on his 2023 Australian tour, and landed a #4 spot on the iTunes Reggae Album Charts. Her breakthrough single 'My Light', written during one of the most transformative periods of her life, is a masterclass in turning personal experience into something universal. As the founder of The Studio Empress and co-founder of Aligned Action Alliance, she now dedicates a significant part of her work to helping other artists, particularly women and mothers, trust their creative instincts and create from a place of joy rather than fear.
Julia Walker
Creative Mindset Coach
Julia came from the frontlines of mental health, working as a suicide prevention counsellor and clinician, including through the pandemic, and arrived at a profound realisation: managing symptoms isn't the same as creating change. Today, through her business Unlock Your Powers, she helps people understand the beliefs, patterns, and energetic habits that quietly shape every outcome in their lives. She works with the 7 Universal Laws and uses practical tools such as scripting, guided meditation, and subconscious reprogramming to help people break out of repeating cycles and start consciously building the life and career they actually want. For musicians carrying the weight of self-doubt or stuck in the same frustrating patterns, her session will be genuinely eye-opening.
Elena Di Fiore
Music PR & Creative Director
Elena has worked across just about every angle of the Australian music industry, as a radio broadcaster, music journalist, venue booker, artist manager, and now as a publicist and founder of Fine-Tuned PR. With close to a decade of experience and a media network that spans thousands of outlets, she specialises in helping independent artists navigate an industry that wasn't exactly designed to make things easy. She exclusively manages award-winning international artist Michael Cristiano, represents a diverse music roster, hosts creative networking events, and has recently been appointed as Artist Representative for OML Sync - sourcing Australian music for global sync opportunities. She also serves as Regional Editor for TAGG - The Alternative Gig Guide, and is a certified General Member of the Association of Artist Managers. At this workshop, Elena won't be giving you theory. She'll be drawing on what she's seen work, and what she's seen fall apart, across years of hands-on campaign work with real artists.
