MARCELLUS PITTMANFRIDAY 20 NOV
THE MOTHERSHIP
DOORS 10PM
support from Music First DJs
A bonafide global heavyweight, the Motor City maverick takes no prisoners when it comes to vitalizing the dance floor. Fans of dance music in New Zealand are lucky enough to have witnessed Pittman headlining festivals like Beacon festival and Nest Fest and his reputation for party rocking is unmatched. He's a DJ's DJ and one of our favourites here at MF HQ, very excited to welcome him back in NZ and to our party
If you’ve witnessed him before, you get the sentiment. A master of the craft - infectious, meticulous mixing -twisting the templates of raw machine music traditions with his signature flair and groove. He understands music and exactly how to manipulate it. Rolling, low flung house and hi-tempo disco the trademark, yet not afraid to knock you around with hard slapping techno, obscure post-punk or change gears altogether with the quiet storm - a justified confidence knowing exactly when to bring you in on his versatile, captivating journey.
Marcellus Pittman is a cornerstone of contemporary Detroit dance music. From the city that has both defined a distinctly deep, raw and human style of groove, and protected that approach with a proud defiance to impure and glossy trends - Pittman is an archetype of a beloved tradition. He generates that inexplicable warmth unlike anything you can get anywhere else. A DJ with all the range and know-how to make you move with feeling.
Coming off hot off the heels of headline appearances across Europe, Marcellus is coming back to Tāmaki and he's ready to rock !
