Imago Foundation for the Arts will welcome the Atwater-Donnelly Trio on Sunday, January 24th for a special Music at Imago concert featuring original songs from the unique voice of Elwood Donnelly accompanied by Aubrey Atwater and Cathy Clasper Torch.
The concert will take place at IMAGO Gallery, 36 Market Street from 4 – 6 p.m. Doors open at 3:30pm.
“Your Deepest Conversation” includes a multitude of songs, from beloved, soulful favorites to compelling new songs. Donnelly leaves no stones unturned as he depicts the human experience in all its glory, difficulty, and vulnerability, drawing from personal and universal experiences, and sharing insight into both the common and the remarkable.
Reflecting on the songs included in this new record, he says, “It is my hope that in these songs, you will find connection, rest, and places of beauty to inhabit.”
Donnelly’ has been performing with his wife, Aubrey Atwater, for decades, offering a unique and thrilling blend of traditional American and Celtic folk music and dance, along with original work. The highly praised husband-wife duo blends gorgeous vocals with an array of instruments including the mountain dulcimer, old-time banjo, tin whistle, guitar, mandolin, harmonica and feet. In 2003, they asked Cathy Clasper Torch, a remarkable fiddler, cellist and vocalist to join them and they began performing as the Atwater-Donnelly Trio.
