Historic Yenko Event @ MCACN 2026We all recognize Yenko for what he did as a racer, dealer, and businessman. What is more amazing what he did for our hobby and passion we have for his cars. Who would have believed his cars are so revered almost 60 years later that their collectability and value continue to climb.
We are in the planning stages, but there will be a display of 69 Yenko one of every hue! With possibly other 1st gen years as well.
The Gold Yenko in particular will be center attraction of the display. It is a historic Prototype/Drag Special car and have invited several dignitaries to join us, such as driver and renowned racer and accomplished world record holder Ed Hedrick (confirmed)who brought the best out of the car. Yenko dealership sold the car following the race, and the original owner Ron Welsh (confirmed) accomplished racer himself campaigned the car as well and will join us for this event. The July 69 issue of Super Stock and Drag Illustrated article was written in a way that made you feel as though you were at the track witnessing the historic 11.94 ET! You can see and hear firsthand accounts of how this car was prepared for the event and the history that followed this car. That is the plan and in the works with more to come….
