About this Event
As violence continues to wreak havoc across the Middle East, once again inflicting unimaginable suffering and loss on vulnerable communities, we're all forced to ask the question, "How do I respond?" In the face of such darkness and violence, what can we do? How can the cycles of violence be broken, and what does it mean to pursue justice and reconciliation among those who are living in this reality?
Join Daniel Munayer and Wasim Nasser, Palestinian Christian leaders and the Executive Director and U.S. Program Director, respectively, of , for this timely conversation on what it means to pursue justice and peace among diverse communities in the Holy Land as war rages across the region.
Come and learn from Daniel and Wasim about the realities on the ground and ways they are pursuing justice and peace nonviolently through a holistic, faith-based approach to reconciliation.
In the words of Daniel Munayer, "This is where reconciliation is more than an idea, but a mandate. It demands that we act, pursue justice without vengeance, confront evil without becoming it, and stand in the tension without surrendering to despair or hatred. It is costly. It is often misunderstood. But it is the only path that refuses to surrender one's humanity."
Musalaha, meaning “reconciliation” in Arabic, is a faith-based organization that teaches, trains, and facilitates reconciliation between diverse ethnic, religious, and social groups, drawing on biblical principles and indigenous practices to pursue joint liberation and redemption through nonviolent co-resistance.
Lunch will be provided.
