DC Health is thrilled to announce our 2026 Social Work Symposium happening Tuesday, April 28, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Whether you’re an MSW student, a practicing Social Worker at any level, or a student exploring a future in Social Work, this event is designed just for you!
Join us for an energizing and informative session featuring:
- 1 hour of Continuing Education Unit (CEU) on best practices in supervision for supervisors and supervisees
- An inside look at the diverse and dynamic fields of Social Work
- A discussion on workforce shortages and opportunities across the District
- Guidance on how to become licensed in DC
And...BIG NEWS.... on-site opportunity to apply for your license!
From 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM in-person attendees will have the option to receive one-on-one help to complete their license application. Participants who choose to take advantage of this opportunity will need to bring their application fee (Only Debit or Credit cards accepted, no cash) and supporting documents.
We’re offering two ways to attend:
- Virtual: Open To All
- In-person: Limited seats available, so be sure to secure your spot early!

Getting There:
- Parking: Underground parking is available at DC Health ($18/daily), and the garage entrance is located behind the building (accessible via Railroad Ave). There is a public lot on Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue ($15/daily) and street parking immediately nearby. The Anacostia Metro Parking ($4.45/ daily) is a 17-minute walk to the building (flat elevation).
- Public Transportation: The nearest Metro station is the Anacostia Metro Station on the Green Line. Several bus routes also serve the area, including A2, A4,A6, A7, A8, A33, B2, W4, 90, P6, V2, W2, W3, W5, W6, W8. Important Notes:
Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early to allow time for security screening and have a photo ID ready to show to security personnel. A DC Health Staff member will accompany you to the 7th floor.
