Mural Unveiling of the Black Tortoise of the North 北方玄武 (North Chinatown)

Join us for the unveiling of the Black Tortoise of the North 北方玄武, the newest mural in the Four Guardians of Chinatown Mural Series. Experience the arrival of the celestial guardian through a light show countdown that illuminates the mural and brings the Black Tortoise to life.
This unveiling centers on the Black Tortoise’s themes of grief, remembrance, and healing. Together, we will honour the many lives lost in Edmonton’s Chinatown and reflect on the deeper social and historical conditions that continue to shape the challenges facing Chinatown and communities across Treaty 6 Territory and Turtle Island.

誠邀大家參與北方玄武壁畫揭幕典禮！這幅壁畫是「唐人街四象守護神壁畫系列」最新作品。
一起見證天界守護神的降臨——透過燈光倒數及投影燈光匯演，照亮壁畫，令北方玄武彷彿活現眼前。
今次揭幕活動以北方玄武所象徵的哀傷、記憶與療癒為核心。我們將一同悼念在愛民頓唐人街失去的眾多生命，並反思更深層的社會及歷史因素——這些因素至今仍然持續影響唐人街，以及條約六號領地（Treaty 6 Territory）同龜島（Turtle Island）各地社區所面對的種種挑戰。
