Munchiez: A Triple Bill
Munchiez is a dance show featuring unique works by three Toronto-based emerging choreographers Teagan Ariss, Sadie Cahill and Maya Santos O’Keefe.
Join us for an evening of contemporary dance that blends imagination, physical storytelling, and bold artistic voices. Featuring 15 emerging professional dancers and a special guest performance by 11 youth dancers, Munchiez celebrates collaboration, creativity, and the next generation of dance artists.
Each performance will be followed by an Artist Talkback, offering audiences the opportunity to engage with the creators and learn more about the works. Friday and Saturday performances will also include an informal reception, creating a casual and welcoming space to continue the conversation about art and dance.

The Works
“What is found” by Teagan Ariss
Exploring themes of hearing, listening and being heard. Three performers converse through body, face and voice, asking: how do our bodies speak and what do we understand through movement?
"Let’s Play House!" by Sadie Cahill
An abstract dive into the routines that shape our daily lives at home, drawing on the magic of make-believe to reimagine everyday life in a fascinating way. Inspired by the creativity of children at play, familiar actions—waking up, cleaning, unwinding—transform into moments of humour and boundless choice.
“N2O 1799” by Maya Santos O’Keefe
Inspired by an early 19th-century Western European fad; the laughing gas party. A whimsical, modern take on the Rococo era, party guests feel the increasing effects of the drug throughout the night, causing an altered state and the slow unraveling of the party into chaos.
Plus "Nightmare Fuel" by Sadie Cahill
A special guest performance by City Dance Corps Youth Program
About bigBITE Dance Collective
We are Maya, Sadie, and Teagan and we are bigBITE collective. We are three emerging dance artists with a specific focus on being choreographers.
We came together to uplift each other through shared capacity and get our choreographic works in front of audiences. Our name “bigBITE” refers to us taking an ambitious step in our careers by self-producing and independently-presenting our works.
Why Munchiez Matters
Munchiez is about opportunities for emerging and youth artists while making dance an accessible artform that can be enjoyed by diverse audiences. We believe dance matters and that everyone can enjoy and should have the opportunity to experience dance! We are passionate about making a show in which all audience members feel welcome, encouraged and included to engage with dance.
This production features 15 emerging professional dance artists and provides 11 youth dancers with a professional performance opportunity, helping introduce the next generation to the world of contemporary dance.
These works have been in development for years, our dancers already contributing hours of collaboration time, and we’re ready to have them shared with the world!
We acknowledge the support of the Canada Council for the Arts, The National Ballet of Canada’s Open Space Programme and City Dance Corps
