Mount Vinson lies in the heart of Antarctica, almost 600 miles from the south pole. It is one of the seven summits and thus has a rich and interesting history. It is also the coldest mountain on the planet making it a tough prospect. While the mountain does not have any real technical difficulty, the cold temperatures will more than make up for it and require a diligent and measured ascent.
Having said that though, an ascent of Vinson requires spending time in Antarctica and this is always a special privilege.
