About this Event
My Senior Year of the United States (MSYUSA) is @audreyallen.art’s downloadable project template for DIYing your own senior year, with guides for making up your own assignments. In collaboration with KCAC’s Sketchbook Project, Audrey will lead two workshop sessions inspired by their experiences as an MSYUSA student and organizer. The workshops are intended to jumpstart artists’ sketchbooks with guided exercises that lean into DIY culture and social education.
By the end of each session, participants will:
- Sketch a yearbook page (10 min)
- Sketch a graduation speech (10 min)
- Plan a field trip (10 min)
- Pitch an independent study (20 min)
Students who bring completed sketchbooks back to KCAC between May 1 - June 17, 2027 will be included in the annual Sketchbook Project exhibition from July 23 - September 11, 2027. MSYUSA participants may be included in a special shelf or wall dedicated to the class of 2027.
