Ashley R. Wilson, FAIA + Interim Director of the MSHP Program
Ashley R. Wilson, FAIA, is an American preservation architect, educator, and historic preservation expert. She specializes in modernizing, stewarding, and renewing nationally significant historic buildings to ensure their long-term viability and relevance.
She was appointed as the Interim Director of the Graduate Historic Preservation Program for Clemson University in September 2026. She was previously a founding and tenured professor for the program.
She has served for a decade as the Chief Architect for Historic Sites (also referred to as the Graham Gund Architect). In this role, she managed the care and preservation of the organization's portfolio of diverse historic properties.
She serves as the Board Chair of the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation and sits on the board of the Drayton Hall Preservation Trust. She is a member of the Old Georgetown Board in Washington, D.C., and serves on the Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS) Advisory Committee.
She is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects (FAIA), a distinction recognizing significant contributions to the profession of architecture.
Throughout her career, she has focused on sustainable stewardship, adaptive reuse, and finding ways to integrate historic structures meaningfully into the modern built environment.
