About this Event
We are excited to announce an evening of sound poetry and experimental performance at The Jama, featuring Jaap Blonk (Netherlands), T.D. (Philadelphia), and local extraordinaire qeTTe fossa.
A composer, performer, poet, and purveyor of the avant-garde, Jaap Blonk has travelled the world spreading his inimitable voice stylings, in an acclaimed career spanning since the 70s. Joining him alongside a solo set will be Mike Gennaro, a Toronto-based drummer whose powerful free style transcends the bounds of the kit.
We are also excited to be hosting T.D. from Philadelphia, presenting an alternate approach to sound poetry. With a background in tape and noise practices, T.D.’s work and live performances aim to find and create a bridge of natural and processed voices amidst varying audio sources.
qeTTe fossa , the latest moniker of Lenz, completes the trio of performances at The Jama. A frequent favourite of MPS shows, their frenetic vocal, physical and musical approaches defy expectations and leave us on our toes.
