Join the Orillia Silver Band on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Orillia for an unforgettable afternoon of music featuring renowned Canadian pianist Kyung-A Lee, vocalist Parres Allen, and members of the Orillia Silver Band.

Program Highlights:
“Movie Music by Candlelight” – Pianist Kyung-A Lee and vocalist Parres Allen join Music Director Neil Barlow and members of the Orillia Silver Band for this very special event.
Revel in the lauded artistry of piano virtuoso Kyung-A Lee as she presents intimate solo performances of pieces by composers Chopin (Ballade No. 1 in g-minor), Beethoven (Pathetique Sonata). and John Williams (Schindler’s List).
Lee and soprano saxophone soloist Kim Barlow will treat you to a haunting interpretation of Morricone’s Gabriel’s Oboe. Renowned vocalist Parres Allen joins pianist Lee and members of the band for his show-stopping renditions of Edelweiss from “The Sound of Music” and New York, New York by Ebb and Kander. Lee and the band have great joy in presenting a tender cover of the Love Theme from Cinema Paradiso by Morricone.
The OSB Ensemble accompanies trombone soloist Laura Christie in a beautiful setting of Arlen’s Over the Rainbow (from the “Wizard of Oz”). And fans of movie cartoons will be unable to sit still during the ensemble’s performance of the main theme from Giacchino’s The Incredibles!
The showpieces of the concert celebrate movie music from the mid-20th Century in Great Britain. Two major piano works are on offer! With precision and passion, Lee and the brass ensemble take us on a fervent journey to southern England via Hubert Bath’s Cornish Rhapsody (from the post-WW2 movie “Love Story”). In addition, they treat us all to a stirring rendition of the famous Warsaw Concerto by Richard Addensell (from the early-WW2 movie “Dangerous Moonlight”). `
