🤝 MOVE WITH YOU, WAIHĪ BEACH is back this year! SIGN UP is at the end of this quick overview 👇
🚴♀️MOVE aims to bring friends and whānau of all ages and abilities in Waihī Beach together, to get whakapakari tinana | moving to improve our overall health and wellbeing! It is aligned with Gumboot Friday, to show support for kiwis everywhere who need an extra hand.
There’s a bit of info below – so please take just a minute to read it before signing up.
🏊MOVE challenges you to achieve one of FOUR challenges in any way you like to move (walking, biking, running, paddling etc):
- Complete a marathon distance (42kms) OR
- Complete an iron man distance (226kms) OR
- Climb the Trig 25 times over the month OR
- 30 minutes of movement daily
📱This year we have a new tracking app to track all your MOVE activity – you will automatically be signed into it when you sign up for MOVE and can add the app to your phone home screen for easy updating (check under Settings for this option).
It allows you to input your trig walks or kms completed; so you can keep motivated. It also has the option for the community to see your achievements over the month – or turn this off if you want to keep this private. You do NOT need to use the app - it is more of a fun add-on!
There is a tutorial about how to use the app pinned on this event page – or when you pick up your cap, Cindy can talk you through the app. Please remember your PIN number when you sign up, as you will need that to log in every time.

🧑🦽➡️You can participate individually or part of a team – there is an option to add your team name on sign-up – but please make sure your team name is entered exactly the same for each member (ie, same name/caps/space) Each team member must sign up individually (to ensure they get their cap!)
🦮 We are offering MOVE events over the month to get you out and motivated - bigger and better Mud Run; special hikes hosted by Echo Walking Festival; Pilates in the Park and beach volleyball. Check back here soon for details of these events!
🧢The first 130 people to sign up will receive a FREE MOVE with You cap! Cap pick up times are: 5 – 6pm on Wed 23 Sep & Tue 29 Sep at the Waihī Beach Library.
Join us on the finale day- Sun 1 Nov - of MOVE at the Surf Club to come together for a speaker, music, platter - PLUS all participants who attend on the day will go in the draw to WIN 1 of 3 $100 wellness vouchers to be spent at a Waihi Beach wellness business of your choice.
