About this Event
Move Through Your Cycle is the first event from Bodies Like Ours - a women's health collective created to bring women together to have conversations we're often not given the space to have.
We're bringing together movement, education and community for an afternoon designed to help you better understand and connect with your body.
The afternoon will begin with a talk with Lucy Dyson about how to move your body safely and mindfully, before leading us through a Pilates session combining strength, mobility and mindful movement. This session will be fully scalable for different experience levels/ abilities, and there is absolutely no pressure to participate. If you're not feeling up to it on the day, you'll be able to take time for yourself in our chill-out space with a cup of tea and some connection.
We'll then be joined by Bex of Her Pelvic Health, a pelvic health physiotherapist, for an educational and practical session exploring how supporting your pelvic floor can support your symptoms. Bex will share simple techniques you can incorporate into everyday life.
Next, Abby of @AF_Nutrition who is a registered nutritional therapist specialising in endometriosis and women's hormone health, will explore the relationship between nutrition, hormones and women's health issues, sharing practical insights into how we can support our bodies.
We'll finish with an open group discussion around hormones, our cycles and experiences of our bodies, creating a safe space to share, ask questions and learn from one another. There'll be gluten and dairy free treats and a selection of teas throughout the afternoon, with plenty of time during the discussion to sit, snack, have a cuppa and connect with women around you.
Whether you like with a women's health condition like endometriosis/ PMOS/ PMDD, have questions about your hormones or cycle, or simply want to understand your body better, this is a space for you.
