Mound City Film Festival

Mound City Film Festival is a one-day celebration of film, art, music, food and the outdoors, bringing together filmmakers, artists, musicians, environmental organizations and the St. Louis community for an experience built around stories of place, people and our connection to the natural world.
From the first film in the morning through our evening Mountainfilm presentation, the festival offers something to discover throughout the day.
🎬 Film
Explore five distinct film experiences:
- Planet in Focus — Plastic Earth, followed by a virtual Q&A with Janice Overbeck.
- Mound City Stories — Regional films featuring stories from St. Louis and the Midwest, followed by a Regional Filmmakers Panel.
- The Art of Place — A special screening of For the Love of the Region – The Life and Art of Bryan Haynes.
- Climate in Motion — A showcase of environmental short films, including A New Inferno, Fragmented, Woven Together and The Resilient River.
- Beyond the Edge — An evening of adventure, environmental storytelling and human achievement through a curated Mountainfilm presentation.
🎨 Art
Meet five Midwest artists whose work explores creativity, nature and place:
Ariel Danza, Lendy Middendorf, Steven Walden, Kenya Mitchell and Danielle Gorin.
The environmental art exhibition will include live demonstrations, including flame-glass demonstrations by Ariel Danza and Lendy Middendorf presented at the Third Degree Glass Factory tent.
🎵 Music
The Pavilion Stage will feature live performances throughout the day, including Neil C. Luke, Lo Stone and evening headliner Atomic Junction, with DJs from CRSTL.FM and the local music community keeping the festival energized between sets.
🍽️ Food & Drink
Make a day of it with the new Atomic Eats food experience from Chef Eric Prophete, Chef Jamal and their team. Food will be paired with beer and distilled products from 4 Hands Brewing Company, giving festival-goers plenty of opportunities to eat, drink and relax between programs.

The festival grounds will also feature environmental and community activations from partners including Swade Cannabis, River City Outdoors, Excel Bottling, Climb So iLL, St. Louis Public Radio, CRSTL.FM, Ope Outdoors, Third Degree Glass Factory and STL Bucket List.
